Self Acceptance Self Esteem

Struggling with low self-esteem and self- acceptance can lead to and be associated with several mental health conditions, especially depression and anxiety. Self- esteem is the degree to which we feel confident and consider ourselves valuable and can affect our ability to successfully navigate many aspects of life. Excessive need for approval, constant comparing one’s self to others, perfectionism, feeling unworthy or not good enough, difficulty asking for or asserting needs and struggling with or avoiding conflict are common symptoms associated with low self-esteem. Much of this is experience is plagued with very harsh negative self-talk. Therapy, especially through mindfulness tools and practices, can help us to shift this relationship with ourselves in order to live more peaceful and compassionate lives.
